A Cherry Birthday

I finally got to play for awhile yesterday. Actually I've had "bits" of time to play over the last week or so, if you'll pardon the pun. I made this card using the Basic Button Bits from PaperTrey Ink. I had ordered two more sets from them the "On My Couch" set and "Vintage Picnic Baskets" and hadn't had time to play with them. My desk was so messy I started to clean then I had room to play, not much but play I did. (By the way, go pick up a copy of Paper Crafts Stamp It!, it is loaded with Button Bits cards).
Any way I finished this card last night, I just had to add the sentiment. Please overlook my poor Copic coloring on the sentiment. I received a Copic Air-brushing system for Christmas and it kind of got away from me. (I learned that I can color my nails, no more polish for me!!)
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Who Me???

I received this delightful digital image as a freebie a week or so ago from Karen's Doodles. I finally had some time to put together a card with it.
Doesn't he (or maybe a she??) look so innocent?
I fell in love with this guy (ok I have a male dog so that's why I tend to think he's a boy) as soon as I saw him.
I colored with Copics and cut him out with my new Nesties Labels Five.
I pulled scraps out for the card base and matting and I'm done.
I left the inside blank since I'm not sure what type of card this will be.
Could be an I'm Sorry, or even a thank you card.
What do you think? Thanks for stopping by.

A Gray Wedding

I decided to enter Mo Manning's Digital Challenge, the challenge is to use shades of gray. Whew this was a hard one. I wasn't sure I could make something I liked just using gray. Then I found this DP Jacobean Black from foof-a-La. It really is more of a charcoal gray so I thought why not?? I used E40 for the skin since it has a gray cast, hair W1, dress and flowers C1 & C3, Tux is N1,N3 & N5.
I cut the image out with a Nestie and added a little bit of ribbon from my stash. Used Zot 3D's to mount it on the gray paper and then again to the card base.
All in all I liked it, what do you think?

Happy Birthday Greg

Yesterday was my nephew Greg's Birthday. I meant to post this card then but I was playing and forgot. I didn't forget to call him so I guess I'm okay. He did get his card so he knew I was thinking of him.
He's a great guy and he is dealing with becoming and Uncle for the first time. His younger brother is giving him this honor.
Anyway I was trying to come up with something special for him and none of the stamps I had worked. So I started wandering through all the "stuff" I have and came across the letter stickers. I didn't have enough of the large stickers to make his name so I combined two different sets.. I like the look, what do you think? Thanks for stopping by.

Remade Mom's Cards

These are a couple more of the remade cards I made for my Card Ministry group. The left side card focal image was from a really large card, so I took my Nestabilites and cut out a portion of the flowers and then cut out a larger one for matting.
I used a sentiment from a different card and was done.
Lesson to be learned, never throw out any thing.
If you don't have Nestabilities use a good pair of Scissors. You can make some pretty cards out of these cards. The right side card focal image was also from a large card so I cut it out and rounded the edges matted it stamped the sentiment and cut that out with a tag Nestie, plopped on a couple of purple rhinestones and I'm done.
Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

A Hearty Valentine

What this is really is a card made up of leftover parts. Should I really call this the Leftover Valentine???
The large heart is from a class I took a few weeks ago at Archivers with my friend Sandy. This was suppose to be used on a treat jar but I gave the jar to my husband to put junk in on his work bench. (Okay a junk Valentine??)
Since I had the heart I added a bunch of small hearts cut out with my Heart Nestabilities. Put it DP from Basic Grey Lemonade Paper Pad and added the sentiment.
The sentiment was a dollar stamp I picked up at Michael's while shopping with my friend Renee. (hi Renee )
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

A Remade Card

I posted yesterday about projects I've been working on and this is part of one of them. I belong to a Card Ministry at my church. Our mission is to send cards to members that can't make to mass for what ever reason, cards for anniversaries (I think it's 45 years or more) birthdays of anyone 85 or older etc. Lots of reasons. Some of our parishioners donate cards that they have been given or sent to them from various organizations that they can't or won't use. We of course can't use them as is so at our last meeting we gathered a bunch of them up and took them home to design cards with parts of the cards. Whew, what a long explanation for this simple card.
I took the front of one card and used the focal point only to make this Valentines card. It had the torn look to begin with so I just "tore" the focal image out and used Memento Lady Bug to color the edges. Plopped it on the DP (Basic Grey Lemonade) and I'm done.
I'll post a couple more cards done like this tomorrow. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Mary Tapping

This is another of the wonderful Mo Manning images.

I've really been enjoying digital images. They are so versatile. If I can ever get my Photoshop Elements 2 figured out, they'll be even more versatile.

My friend Sandy, recently told me about a new site to check out for digi images. There are some really neat ones there. It is Karen's Doodles. Karen has some really sweet images. I just received another one and will be making a card with it today.
This image pays homage to the Red Hat Ladies (I know there's no hat but there is the red and purple). The sentiment is from Penny Black and it made me laugh when I saw it the first time. It reminds me of way back when I was a Service Rep for Ma Bell and the older ladies would go get their hair done every Thursday and we younger girls (in our 20's) would marvel at how they could go a week with the same hairdo. Can we spell extra hold hair spray???
Well anyway I must get busy and get the cards I've made the past few days photo'd and get them ready to post. Hope you like this one and thanks for stopping by.

A Supportive Birthday

I used Amy's Boutique from All That Scraps for this card. I stamped out the bra on several scraps of DP, (love those scraps). Then I cut them out and scattered them on the green layer.
This DP is from the Basic Grey Lemonade paper pad. I just love the mix of patterns on this paper. I had a scrap of this paper lace that I just added at the last minute. (I think I might have smudged the top edge of the green paper, don't you just love embellishments???)
On the inside I computer generated the sentiment "Just sending a little support for your Birthday"
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

A Quick Birthday

Back when I was making all the cards for my Christmas gift packets I came up with this design.
It probably took me a maximum of 3 minutes to do this card, and 2 of the minutes was deciding what color rhinestones to put on the package. Don't want to be too flashy you know.
I did really like how this turned out. Very plain, but just enough bling to make it a happy card.
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Another Water Color

I'm so ready for spring, that being said this is the first time it really looks like winter around here. We have about six inches of snow on the ground and it looks like it will be sticking around for awhile.
This is another of the Art Impressions stamped water color cards I did awhile back. ( I really need to get my stuff out and have fun)
The thing I like best about the Art Impression set is the instructions you can get for this technique. They have booklets that tell you the colors to use and what combo mixes for the best effects. There is even a video available.
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Sympathy for a Biker

This is one of the saddest cards I've ever made. A dear friend of ours passed away suddenly and way too young. Paul was 15 years younger than Bruce and 3 years younger than me.
He was the type of person who took great joy in every day and shared that joy with all around him.
Since he was an avid Harley guy I had to get out the only bike stamp I had and build the card around that. The intent was to show his love of the cruise. Going the back roads (stopping for the occasional libation), and enjoying the outdoors. We'll miss him dearly.

A Cottage at the Lake

Yesterday I posted my "Dreaming" place, today I'm posting the cottage that chair is at.
I'm sure everyone wants a place to get away to. Someplace that just lets you relax and enjoy the quiet. Well maybe not everyone, but I do.
These stamps are Art Impression Stamps also and water colored with Tombows. This is one of my favorite coloring methods. But because I'm so messy at it I don't do it as often as I'd like.
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

A Dreaming Place

Hi, hope you've had a happy New Year. We've been busy catching up on things let go for the last month in preparation for the holidays. Now it's back to routine and cleaning up, putting away decorations etc. I am not, however going out to take down the lights til it's a little warmer.
Nice segue to my card. I made this card a couple of years ago. I was wandering through my photo files and found a bunch of water color cards I had done in 'o8. The stamps are from Art Impressions. My favorite thing to do is sit by the water in a chair like this and read, dream or just relax with a cup of tea or coffee. As I look out the window at the snow it really is just a dream. I used Tombow markers to water color. And as I look at this card I'm not sure why I have that rise on the left side of the water. 'Tis a puzzle. Anyway, hope you like it and thanks for stopping by

Happy New Year

Just a short note today. Wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year but wanted also to post a card.
I needed something spring like to combat the winter blahs.
I know winter has just started but I'm already tired of the cold.
So far today I've fixed a big breakfast, watched the Rose Bowl Parade and taken care of some trash. Put away stuff from Christmas and taken down the old calendar.
The biggest job I've done is taken care of the meat we bought Tuesday. After being gone for the holidays I came back to an empty fridge. We went to Sam's and the grocery store and stocked up and now it's all taken care of and in the freezer, well at least most of it is. I now have 2 meat loaves, 15 burgers, 3 roasts and a turkey breast ready to cook. We'll be eating well for the next month anyway.
Hope you all have a wonderful day.
