Kellen's Birthday

When I saw this set from My Favorite Things it was a no brainer that I had to have this set.  This character from Birdie Brown's Super Boy set just made me think of my great nephew. the stamps have coordinating dies that make this even more fun to work with, wow it was so easy to put this together.  I colored with Copics and mounted him onto a circle cut with one of my Die-namics circles. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by. #mftstamps

Love at First Touch

One of the sets I found in my cleaning up is a lovely set from Gina K Designs by Melanie Muenchinger called Hand In Hand. I couldn't find it on their web sight so I think it's no longer in production. The die is from Papertrey Ink. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Tulips and a Dragon Fly

This card just makes me happy, I love tulips and this set has a fun take on them. I used the rock and roll technique to color them. The dragon fly was just a bit of whimsy. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Butterfly Sympathy

I've had to make way too many sympathy cards lately. I had a stack of premade card bases sitting on my desk so I put together some cards and this is one I came up with. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Odd Balloons

When I was working on getting my craft stuff organized I also realized that I don't use my dies as often as I would like since it means hauling out my Cuttlebug, my paper cutter and so on. More work than I want to do since I have to work on my dining table. I got the bright idea to make die cuts as I was sorting out the dies. Another great idea in concept that really turned out well. I bought an album with top loading pages to place the die cuts in and now I can just grab some when I need them. One of the dies I made cuts with in different colors was By the Numbers from Papertrey Ink. I thought it would be fun to have different colors when making birthday cards. What I ended up with was a glorious pile of odd shapes that came out of the centers of the numbers.  I've been seeing many card designs with balloons on them so I took those shapes and made this card. Lesson learned in crafting is not to waste potential items. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Mehndi Medallion

I was looking at my craft area a few weeks ago and wondered how I had let things get so out of hand. I decided to take the time to straighten out my stamps and dies and find a better way to work with them.  Well it was a good idea in concept but as I worked I couldn't help but make cards while I had different stamp sets out.  I found sets that I had completely forgotten about and it got the creative juices flowing. Mehndi Medallion from Papertrey Ink was one of the sets I found.  When I decided to make cards as I sorted things out I also decided to make two of every design (well not exactly alike, can't do that). I made this card and then the same card in different shades of blue. I liked this one the best so it's the one I'm sharing. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Hippo Birdie

Recently I've found some really cute stamp sets on different web sites. This one Wish Big from Ellen Hutson made me laugh when I first saw it.  The different images alone or in combination make great cards.  After I received the set in the mail I was so busy I couldn't get time to play with it but I finally got to play. Oh it was fun to make this card.  I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Can't Make 2 Cards Alike

I have a real problem when making cards that I just can't make cards exactly alike (except when making for a requested occasion like rehearsal dinners). I get into a card making marathon and I want to make as many cards as I can so I set up a production line.  This was the result of one of those marathons, cards are alike except for the sentiment and where I placed it, no time at all and 2 pretty cards. Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

Stately Flowers

Gina K has a series of stamp sets called Stately Flowers and if you have a Silhouette cutting system there are free cut files and frames for them.  This frame is from the 8th set and the flower is from the 5th set.  The stamp sets are really beautiful and the cut files make for a more interesting card. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Fat Cat

Papertrey Ink came out with this Halloween set called Superstition. I have a few family members who are cat lovers and when I wanted to make my sister-in-law a birthday card I thought of Bonnie and her cats and decided this would be perfect for her. I cut a circle into a piece of scrap card stock and created this sun for the cat to watch then drew in the horizon and using daubers created the land and the sky. After that was all done I stamped the cat using black ink. After I had it all done I realized that I had stamped the cat using the back of the stamp hence the Fat Cat. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Smile Little Boy

I was going thru my stash of cards and found a couple of them that had been hanging out in the box for way too long. I looked at them and thought to myself  'What on earth were you thinking'. I guess it was a moment of absolutely no inspiration. One card there was no redeeming it so into the trash it went, this card base was still good so I removed the DP that was on it and went looking for a DP that would work with this card stock. I found this in a My Mind's Eye paper pack called PLAYDATE. It is an old one from 2012 but I still had a few sheet left and this one kind of tickled me. It is a 6 x 6 pad so I trimmed it down and decided to let the S M I L E be my sentiment and leave the DP be the focal point. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Fleece Navi-baa

I tried to combine a white wash technique with humor and like washing something red in with the whites I got pink sheep. A couple of years ago Gina K Designs came out with this set Fleece Navi-baa and it is just so cut I had to try it out. Well it sort of worked, pink sheep for Christmas??? Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

Happy Father's Day to the New Dads and the Experienced Dads

We have two new Dads in our family this year, my youngest nephew and my oldest nephew both became first time fathers in the past few months. My brother-in-law and my middle nephew are the experienced Dads. It is an exciting time for our family right now so I'm so happy to salute them all.

A Wheelbarrow of Flowers

Both Gina K designs and Papertrey Ink put out small stamp sets that fill a niche. This wheelbarrow stamp is from Gina K and the sentiment may be hers or Papertrey Ink ( I can't find the stamp at the moment because I've been cleaning and everything is out of whack). I've been trying to make 2 of every card I make just changing them slightly to help fill up my stash of cards. Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

Double Whammy

Oh boy, with this card I got a double whammy. Making a masculine card using existing supplies. The tree was left over from Christmas cards is a die cut from Papertrey Ink's In The Meadow set and the deer are stamps from the same set. I'm not sure where the sentiment is from,

Wedding

Continuing with my quest to use up existing supplies I made a few simple wedding cards using crosses from a Nestablities set.  I wanted to keep it very simple to allow the sentiment from Wordsworth and the Cross to be the focus. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Choo Choo

Since we have young boys in the family I needed to come up with cards for them, Trains are always a good way to go with the little ones (and I shouldn't be sexist and say this would be good only for boys since girls can be interested in trains also). So anyway I stamped this with Memento London Fog using the Papertry Ink stamp set Train Tracks. It is such a cute set with a variety of options. I wanted to keep it neutral and the DP from Basigrey"s Hey Boy paper pack was just perfect for this card. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Apple Blossom Time

Gina K Designs has a series of stamp sets called Stately Flowers, this is from #9 of the sets and it's Michigan's state flower so of course I had to use it. There are both a small and a large flower in the set and I got the idea to randomly stamp the small one as a background stamping off once with Memento London Fog but oops I forgot on one so I went to plan b and stamped 3 of the small ones to color and one of the large. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Fab Birthday

I had such fun making this card, again it was inspired by trying to clean up my desk.  The DP is some that I've had hanging around for a while and since I wanted to make some black and white cards this worked out well.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

The Iris

Flowers are so easy to make cards with, they can cover a multitude of occasions.  This Iris is a fun one to color.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Sail Away

I've been trying to use up supplies that I have on hand and this card is a result of a burst of card making I did the other day.  I had some card bases made up and I found a stash of die cuts from Gina K's Ship to Shore set.  I went looking for DP to use as water and hand cut the waves. The cloud was from I don't know where and the bird is part of this same set.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Tipped Bowls

This is the other card I made using the Bowl of Sunshine set from Papertrey Ink. The DP is from Gina K Designs. I love these bowls and I remember seeing similar ones on tables in the past so it brings back happy memories. Hope you like the card and thanks for stopping by.

The Old Covered Bridge

This image is from a Gina K set Country Road and the sentiment is from the same set.  I colored with Copics and kept is very simple to make is a somewhat quiet card. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Pretty Bowls

I've been working making some cards for a friend (that's you Nan) and had fun putting this card and another one together (one for Nan and one for me).  The DP is from Gina K and the bowls are from a Papertrey Ink set.  Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

Ribbon and Flowers

This has got to be one of my favorite stamps. I've had it for years, I think it's one of the first ones I bought. I think it is great for any occasion.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Dylan

I needed a birthday card for my youngest nephew (he's 23 today) and a new father. Not sure how much of a party animal he is now but I thought this one would be cute for him.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Another Christmas card from last year. I just love the colors.  It's another Papertrey Ink set colored with Copics. Thanks for stopping by.

Autumn Hello

It has been cool enough the last few days that one would almost think we skipped over summer and went right to fall. Luckily it's warmer today so I think we are safe. This is a Papertrey Ink set that I've had for a few years and I thought it would be really pretty embossed with copper/bronze embossing powder. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Houses on the Hill

I didn't post any of the cards I made for Christmas this year (otherwise busy in the chemo chair), so I wanted to share one now.  The houses are die cuts from Papertrey Ink colored with Copics and the hills are another die cut from Papertrey Ink. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

The Pelican

Rosie Roadshow Stamps has a whole slew of quirky animal stamps and this Pelican just tickles me. When I need a just for no reason card I think of these stamps.  I didn't use a sentiment or give any idea of what kind of occasion this card might be used for, just leaving it up to the imagination.
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Happy Mother's Day

I missed posting a card on Mother's Day so belatedly here's one that I made. The DP is Gina K 'Watercolor Garden'. It is so pretty that I didn't want to cover up much of it, so I just did a Sentiment and stamped a small flower around it. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Plant a Seed

When I was dealing with stuff this past winter I stamped and colored a bunch of these images and then thought what the heck am I going to do with these.  I decided that I could just make a generic card or as I call them 'All Occasion' cards. It turned out to be the perfect card to send a friend for her birthday since it was spring and time to start planting. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Cardinal Sympathy

I read a statement somewhere, probably Facebook, that id you see a cardinal it is someone who has passed on coming to visit so I made this card using stamps from two different sets. Now if you ask me which sets I will have to go looking for them since I made this card months ago and I didn't bother to write down what I did.

Angel Boy

It's been a long time since I've posted a card so forgive me if I ramble a bit.  I'm back in good health though I still am waiting for my hair to grow back fully.  Over the winter while doing the chemo thing I stamped off many images of which this is one, I call him Angel Boy, but he's a Magnolia image.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's designer Dawn McVey (Signature Greetings 11). The DP is from I don't know where, it's a paperpack that I've had for a long time. Thanks for stopping by if you do.

Sunday, February 8, 2015

I have 3 nieces who are runners and I used this Diva set from Gina K designs for cards for them.

Saturday, February 7, 2015

I've been absent for way to long due to some health issues. I never stopped making cards but I just didn't have the thought process to blog about them. I intend to try to catch up and hope that I can make some sense. Wish me luck.
