In addition to the Hanukkah cards that I made for my sister, she also asked for some Christmas cards.  I made a dozen cards and these are three of them.  I chose to use this verse from Papertrey's 'Beautiful Blessings:Holiday' stamp set.  (Lucky choice it's one of Ann's favorite verses.)  I decided to make it the focal point of the cards and keep the card very simple so it stands out.  She called me to say how much she liked all of the cards, but these especially were her favorites.  Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

I wanted to make some more masculine cards for my gift packets at Christmas and this is what I came up with.  I cut the hills with a Papertrey die and the tree deer are coordinating dies from the 'In the Meadows' set.  The blue check DP is Gina K's 'Casual Friday' paper pack.  The sentiment is Papertrey Ink's 'Trendy Trees' (love the font). The card base is Gina K's In the Navy.
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Rolly Polly Dreidels

These are the two children's Hanukkah cards I made for my sister. I stamped the dreidels from Papertrey Ink's Mazel Tov set, on card stock with Memento Paris Dusk and cut them out.  On the focal page I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and then embossed them.  After cutting the slot (twice with a Stampin Up punch) I pop dotted the image onto pennies (one on each side of the slot) then mounted it onto the card base with a double layer of dimensional tape.  It sounds a lot more complicated than it really is, but I think it makes a fun card.                                                          Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by

Happy Hanukkah

Hanukkah is coming up soon and my sister Ann asked me to make some Hanukkah/Chanukah cards for her.  She need adult and children cards and wanted some variations on them.  Well I was all set for her.  (The real truth is, I had received a new set from Papertrey Ink, Menorah Medley, with coordinating dies and I have another set from them, Mazeltov, so I called and asked her if she needed some so I could play with them.)
So I made 6 adult cards and 2 children's.  These are 3 of the adult cards using the dies and sentiment stamps.  With the different DP's it was easy to make a variety of cards.  Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

An Anniversary Butterfly

I had some time to play the other day and decided to make use of some card bases I had previously made up.  The DP I had used on these cards is some that had beautiful texture and design and I've had it for so long I have no idea who the manufacturer is and I really wish I knew so I could buy some more.  But anyway, I also had these butterflies I had cut out with Papertrey Ink  dies that coordinate with their 'Beautiful Butterflies' stamp set.  I goofed up on this one but really like how it turned out.  I had stamped another butterfly using Memento Cantaloupe and didn't clean the stamp off and for this one I used Pear Tart and the colors mingled and since I had used Cryogen white card stock there is just a little shimmer, really pretty in person.  Adding the flat back pearls on the butterfly and the sentiment strip finished it off nicely.
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Mary

I had to come up with something special for my cousin Mary's birthday.  I decided to combine a few techniques and colors for her card.  I used the Beautiful Butterflies set from Papertrey Ink stamped in Memento Love Letter and added a couple of rhinestones. It is stamped on a die cut and I stamped the antenna directly onto the barn wood layer.  The other times that I've used the barn wood technique I used brown and grey or blue and grey, this time I thought okay, barns are red so that's how I rolled.  Memento Love Letter first then Grey Flannel over top.  After I finished the butterfly I felt that it looked a little to bare so I went into my stash and pulled out a string of small red rhinestones for a little flourish.
Hopefully she'll like it (especially since I'm adding a little something, something into the card).
Hope you like it also and thanks for stopping by.

Deer on the Hills

I was watching a card making video last week on Stamp TV called faux torn edges and it reminded me of this technique that I saw way back when on Splitcoast Stampers (love these resources) to use torn paper to create the look of hills or mountains.  I had my Papertrey Ink set 'In the Meadow' out and decided to make some "guy" cards.  My base is kraft and just a single layer using the torn edge of paper I rubbed along the edge with Memento Rich Cocoa turning the paper for dimension.  I stamped the deer and sentiment (also in Rich Cocoa) and rubbed along the edge of the card (after rounding off the bottom) with Papertrey Ink's Fresh Snow.
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Girly Card with Bling

When I needed a card for my step-daughter, Marianne, I went immediatley for pink and bling.  Suits her perfectly.  I pulled out my Cuttlebug and embossing folders for this one.  It's so easy to make great cards with this combo.  I made the card base white, then a layer of Memory Box's 'Taffy' then the embossed layer with some pink rhinestones and the sentiment.  So easy, but she loved it so that was good.
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

The Halloween Tree

I needed to make some Halloween cards for a card sale at church and I had this paper pack from Doodlebug Designs 'Haunted Manor' so here is one of the many cards I made. (I usually don't so Halloween, but I ended up making 18 cards, almost everyone I know got one.)
The tree is from Rosie Roadshow and the rest of the images are from a Fiskar's clear stamp set 'Trick or Treat'. This paper pack really let me have fun with Halloween this year.  So much so that I've been on a card making binge and just haven't had time to post them (ok that's not really true I was just to lazy to download the cards and post them).  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Paul's Birthday

I made this card for my brother-in-law Paul's birthday.  He is turning the big *0 today.  My sister informs me that he was really happy that the number was not on the card as all of the other cards he received  did.
For this card I used the technique I learned from Gina K for the weathered barn board look using Memento Paris Dusk and Grey Flannel.  The card base and matting is Gina K's In the Navy and the focal point is on Beckett Expressions white.  I used Gina K's 'Country Road' stamp set for my focal point and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's 'Beautiful Butterflies' (I just love the font).  I stamped it all with Memento Paris Dusk, stamping the little flowers twice without re inking
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.
