Color Pop

One of the techniques you see around the various card making blogs and in the magazines is a card designed with most of the stamping done in dark or neutral colors and then one item done in a bright color.  I tried that with this card using the Gina K With Love and Prayers mini stamp set from the Stamp TV kit Journey of the Heart.  The sentiment is from another of the mini stamp sets from the same kit, Little Branches.  I stamped the flower and branches using Memento brown and then I stamped a flower using two shades of orange for the petals and brown for the center, I then fussy cut it and adhered it over one of the brown flowers.  I added the sentiment over a thin strip of dark brown card stock.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Purple and Yellow Tulips

Large stamps are the most wonderful stamps to have if you don't want to do a lot of layers.  I have this tulip stamp from Northwoods Rubber Stamps that is so great to color.  I have two sympathy cards that I made with this image that I just love.  I really like this frilly tulip and I think it makes a wonderful card.  What do you think.  Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Mary

Today is my sister's birthday and so I thought this would be an appropriate card for a retired school teacher.  The stamp is from Lockhart Stamps.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Sick as a Dog

I've had two stamps in my collection from different companies, a sentiment from Custer's Last Stamp and an image from Great Impressions, that go perfectly together. So I made these cards and I hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

Signs of Spring

We see3med to have skipped right over spring and gone back to fall, maybe we'll get another stab at summer but I'm really beginning to wonder.  We just changed over from flannel sheets to cotton and the temps dropped right back down to where I need a sweatshirt to be comfortable. I needed a taste of spring or summer so I decided to post this card using the Gina K set Signs of Spring set designed by Theresa Momber. This is a great flower to color and if you watch this video you'll see how easy it is to color. Hope you like my card and thanks for stopping by.

The Vresatile Bike

One of the stamp sets and matching dies from Papertrey Ink that I had a lot of fun with is Pedal Pusher the set has many options for decorating the bikes that make it so fun to work with.  These are a few of the cards I made with this set.  Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by

18th Anniversary

This Sunday will be our 18th Anniversary of being married in the church (we celebrate our pagan (as Fr. Bill calls it)
anniversary in April) so Bruce and I are headed to Myrtle Beach for a few days to enjoy the day.  When I was making cards and using up existing supplies I made this card. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Purple Cards

We all have that person that we want to give a gift to and there is nothing worse than trying to come up with something that they don't already have and or they would need or like (I'm that person, don't get me anything I have to dust or find a place to store lol).  My sister called a week or so ago and asked for some cards for a friend who is older and there really isn't anything new or exciting to get her for her birthday. Then she thought of the cards I make and it was the perfect answer.  Her friend loves the color purple so that gave me my jumping off point.  These are some of the cards I sent her. Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

Some More Embossed Cards

When I get on a roll I really roll.  I started making the cards with the white wash technique and while I was in the mood to powder emboss I made quite a few cards.  These are a few more of them, they are all Gina K.  The top card is an Iris, the second card is a Lady Slipper and the bottom is an Orange Blossom, all from the Stately Flowers 7 & 8 sets designed by Melanie Muenchinger. Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

Thanksgiving

Okay, now let's travel back a few months and revisit that wonderful day of eating ourselves into oblivion, you know that day-THANKSGIVING.  I made quite a few cards to send out to my church people and cards to add to the food baskets. The stamp set is from Papertrey Ink. These are just a few of them I hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

Long Stems, Lockhart and Others

I have a lot, and I mean a lot of flower stamps.  One set I have is from Stampin Up called Long Stems, I bought that set when I was looking for a good lily stamp to make some cards for my niece's wedding shower cards.  The Lockhart stamps from Ellen Hutson are just because I am fascinated with the way the stamps are designed using vegetable and or fruits in the designs.  But many of the stamps I have are ones I've accumulated over the years and just pull them out every once in a while.  These are some of the cards I've made over the past few months.  Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

I'm going to the Beach

We are headed to Myrtle Beach for a few days and when I found this card that I made a few months ago and never posted I thought now was the time.  It's a Rosie Raodshow stamp the is one of her tickle your funny bone stamps (at least that is what I call them). The DP is from Gina K.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

More Christmas Cards with Holiday Home

One of the sets I bought from Papertrey Ink was Holiday Home.  I really liked the options available with this set and the matching dies.  I had some fun making my cards and now that the thermometer has hit the eighties I thought I'd share something from those cold days.  Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

Baby Cards

I personally (at this time) don't know of anyone having a baby, however among my nieces and nephews they all know someone who is looking forward to that blessed event.

So when it came time to put together the Christmas sets of cards for family I had to include some baby cards.  I used a variety of stamps and DP and I made these cards last year so I'm just going to post a whole bunch of them.  Enjoy.  Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

Gina K's Country Roads by Theresa Momber

Gina K designer Theresa Momber has many wonderful stamp sets and Country Roads (see it here) is a favorite for many reasons. One of which is the cut files for the Silhouette that makes card making so much fun. I put together several cards using DP that I had in my stash (and since I haven't bought any DP in so long I have no idea who it's from) but it is all double sided so I could use both sides when making the cards.  Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

Playing with Color

Every once in a while I like to go a little wild with color and try something fun.  When I was putting cards together I had card stock all over the table and just started layering some up and this card was created.  The image is another old favorite and the sentiment is from a Dawn McVey set from Papertrey Ink.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

A Gaiety Girl

Years ago I found this stamp from All Night Media at either Michael's or Joann's and bought it for my husband who is a Toulouse-Lautrec fan.  It has sat in a drawer for quite some time and I thought it was time to bring her out.  I kept the card fairly simple to give her the spotlight.  I trimmed off some of the front of the card and stamped the sentiment on the inside.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Fleece Navibaa

When I pulled out the Stamp TV kit for the Christmas cards from the previous post I found this Gina K set Fleece Navibaa ( another set I've had and not used yet) so I decided to get ahead of Christmas (that's a laugh) and make a few cards.  I had 7 red card bases sitting on my desk (remember the pledge to use up what I have sitting around) and decided to see if the white wash technique would work.  I'll let you be the judge.  I embossed the sheep, sentiment and lights in white (well except for the first one I did in clear, not sure how I'm going to handle that one, will do another post for it).  Then I white washed the bodies and colored in the lights with Martha Stewart glitter pens.  Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

Anniversary for Ann

I received a text from my sister Ann asking me for some anniversary cards, she specifically asked for these cards since she liked the birds.  The set is from a Gina K Stamp TV kit, the Bundle of Love stamp set ( I think it came out last February).  She asked for 3 cards and I didn't have that many so since I still had the set handy I quickly whipped out 4 cards (easier to make even numbers of cards and it gives me one for my stash). I used all items from the kit so it's all Gina K.  The one card with the sentiment on red card stock is because I smudged the sentiment and had to cover it up (my bad, always check your fingers for ink).  The bottom card has a red strip thru the center since the DP was two separate pieces left over from the other cards, always good not to waste DP. Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

Valentine's Day Revisited

In February I made Valentine's Day cards to send out to my Church people.  I pulled out my Nestabilities Heart dies and went to town cutting out all sizes in different colored card stock.  I had fun finding DP for backgrounds and putting the different colors together.  Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

I then decided to make a few wedding cards.

Sympathy

When I sit down to make sympathy cards I try to make them with some interest and color.  I really think that even in the saddest times people need to have some color and when they receive a note from a friend it should be with an idea to pull them out of the sadness.  I hope these cards qualify.  Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

Early Christmas

I made a promise to myself that I would not buy any new stamps, card stock or designer paper until I have used up the bits and pieces that are lying all over my desk ( and there is a lot of stuff). Believe me it has been very hard not to whip out the plastic and order away from Gina K and Papertrey Ink and Ellen Hutson and etc., etc., etc.
So I started yesterday with the first thing that I put my hand on.  I have several red card bases that I had made up for valentines but never used, then I found two pieces of snowflake vellum and I was off to Christmas.  I have all of my Christmas stuff in one basket that I keep on the floor under my desk and I didn't feel like crawling down there (being lazy) so I pulled out the Gina K Christmas Stamp TV kit that I got but never had time to use and inspiration was born.  I stamped the ornament and then used a stamp positioner to center the sentiment just right. I have a great ideas for the other red card bases and I just hope they turn out.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Sit Back and Relax

I have a whole series of chair stamps from Ellen Hutson's Lockhart Stamp line.  I just love these chairs especially this particular one since I have two of them in my front yard (just plain white ones though, nothing fancy).  For this card I decided to go with a green and white color scheme ( I colored this one while MSU was still in the March Madness contest).  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.
