Art Impression's Try'folds

Art Impression came out with these really neat sets called Try'folds. The idea is that you make a card that folds in 3's, trim around the images and each layer shows a part of the picture.  When I watched the video showing how to make one I fell flat in love with the idea.  So of course I ordered three of the sets. So far I've only made one card and it was for my friend form high school Marti, for her birthday in January. I used Gina K's 120 lb. card stock since I can color with Copics with no bleed through. House Cards

 One day many months ago I had too much time on my hand and I started to make card bases.  For some unknown reason I made several of these gatefold cards.  Then I just had no inspiration to make anything with them.  That is until one night when I was trying to fall asleep (and having no luck) I remebered an idea I had when going thruough my stash of DP.  Several of the DCVW paper pads had the look of wallpaper.  Thus this card was born.  I actually made 6 of these cards to send out to my card ministry people.  I used two sets, one is from Art Impressions, Doorways.  The main set is a doorway, then there are sets for every two months with different themes.  I used elements from the April/May set and the Feb./March set to decorate the front of the card.
Then going inside I used Papertrey Inks Chair-ished and On My Couch setsfor the furniture and wall art.  I had so much fun making these cards and best of all I used up all the gatefold cards.  One more part of my stash gone.

A Lighthouse

I have always loved Art Impression stamps and was thrilled to find this stamp at the Scrapbooking convention last month.  It's funny, since I already have the different elements as individual stamps and have used them in different configurations but this stamp just wowed me.  I wanted to keep my card somewhat subdued so that if someone wanted to they could use it as a sympathy card or a masculine birthday card.  I kept the coloring very monochromatic and the matting and card base carried that on.  I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

The Garden Gate

This is another of the water color cards I made last week. I really had fun that day playing with water and colors. The one really sweet thing about this card is that little bird, he (or she) looks so happy. I found the colors I used for this card both in the painting and the card stocks chosen just made me happy. All stamps are from Art Impressions and I just received a new order from them so I'm going to have to play again soon. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Flower Carts

These are two more of the water color cards I made using stamps from Art Impressions. I use Marvy Markers to color with and the help you get from the Art Impressions company is terrific. They have a video and books that give you instructions and illustrations that are impressive and then of course there is You Tube for more help.

The Doors

Shortly after Christmas a friend asked if I could make her some cards. Judy makes the most wonderful lotions so we bartered cards for lotions. Judy and her husband have the most beautiful garden and she picked out cards from this blog that she liked the most and of course they were cards with flowers on them for the most part. Some were also water color cards, I haven't played with water colors in a long time so I got them out and had such fun. These cards use a set from Art Impressions that celebrate different times and events using the same door as the base. I had gotten this set and never really used it so out the came and oh what fun I had. Two very different looks but the same door. It got me so excited I went up on their site and ordered more stamps. Lovin' it.

We are digging out from the snow so I might just get to play again today and do more water coloring. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

I'm Baaaaack

Taxes are DONE!!! Filed and accepted by the Feds. If anyone out there is using Turbo Tax, beware. It's not an easy one to use this year if you are using Microsoft and have to download .Net 3.5 SP1. I took me 4 days to find the correct fix for my system.

Now on to happier subjects. I made this card originally as a birthday card and then turned it into a Valentines card for my husband. We are both retired telephone workers and it seemed appropriate to use this Art Impressions of and English phone Booth.

I water colored this image and mounted it on a dark blue DP and then added to the card base.

Another Water Color

I'm so ready for spring, that being said this is the first time it really looks like winter around here. We have about six inches of snow on the ground and it looks like it will be sticking around for awhile.

This is another of the Art Impressions stamped water color cards I did awhile back. ( I really need to get my stuff out and have fun)

The thing I like best about the Art Impression set is the instructions you can get for this technique. They have booklets that tell you the colors to use and what combo mixes for the best effects. There is even a video available.

A Cottage at the Lake

Yesterday I posted my "Dreaming" place, today I'm posting the cottage that chair is at.

I'm sure everyone wants a place to get away to. Someplace that just lets you relax and enjoy the quiet. Well maybe not everyone, but I do.

These stamps are Art Impression Stamps also and water colored with Tombows. This is one of my favorite coloring methods. But because I'm so messy at it I don't do it as often as I'd like.

A Dreaming Place

Hi, hope you've had a happy New Year. We've been busy catching up on things let go for the last month in preparation for the holidays. Now it's back to routine and cleaning up, putting away decorations etc. I am not, however going out to take down the lights til it's a little warmer.

Nice segue to my card. I made this card a couple of years ago. I was wandering through my photo files and found a bunch of water color cards I had done in 'o8. The stamps are from Art Impressions. My favorite thing to do is sit by the water in a chair like this and read, dream or just relax with a cup of tea or coffee. As I look out the window at the snow it really is just a dream. I used Tombow markers to water color. And as I look at this card I'm not sure why I have that rise on the left side of the water. 'Tis a puzzle. Anyway, hope you like it and thanks for stopping by

Baby Bear

I found this card in an old file of cards that I had made some time ago. This image is from an Art Impressions stamp set #2898. There are 4 baby type stamps and they are each adorable. I stamped this image on water color paper and used Marvy markers to water color it. The fun part of Art Impression is all the info and directions you get with the stamps. It is so easy. This was a simple card to make. I just water colored the edge of the paper and affixed it to the DP. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Water Color

Hi, I know I haven't posted in along time but life got in the way.

Anyway this is a card using my favorite method of coloring. This is Art Impressions "English Countryside" set. Coloring is done with Marvy markers and water color brushes. I just love this set. There are so many stamps that you have unlimited designs available.
